Description

Offshore Skipper Course – Master Power, Sail, and Coastal Navigation Techniques Designed for aspiring skippers, experienced sailors, and yacht crew preparing for real-world sailing scenarios, this program delivers comprehensive training in power and sail handling, navigation, meteorology, safety at sea, and passage planning. Core Modules Include: Yacht Handling Under Power & Sail Manoeuvring for berthing/unberthing (alongside, stern-to) Mooring buoy approaches and anchoring procedures Man Overboard (MOB) recovery under sail and engine Tacking, gybing, and handling in varied conditions Navigation Skills & Chart Work Dead Reckoning (DR) and plotting DR positions Use of fixing lines (bearings, depth contours, leading lights) Magnetic compass use, deviation/variation, and error correction Understanding and using tidal data, currents, and anomalies Navigational Aids Identification and interpretation of buoys and beacons (IALA A & B) Use of lights, light characteristics, and visibility ranges Echo sounder operation, limitations, and secondary echoes Satellite-based systems, logs, and logbook record-keeping Pilotage & Passage Planning Planning harbour entry/exit strategies and meeting port regulations Preparing charts, using weather data, and calculating tides Navigation in restricted visibility and fog procedures Compliance with national/local regulations for coastal navigation Meteorology for Sailors Understanding weather patterns, fronts, clouds, and pressure systems Interpreting weather forecasts, using weatherfax and barometers Day/night breezes, fog, and weather planning for safe passages Safety at Sea & Collision Regulations Personal safety gear, fire prevention, VHF distress calls Use of lifejackets, harnesses, jackstays, and liferaft recovery Full knowledge of International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) Understanding SAR operations and helicopter rescue readiness Environmental Responsibility Pollution prevention and protection of the marine environment Sustainable sailing and respecting maritime ecosystems Ideal For: Intermediate to advanced sailors Experience required prior training: 28 days at sea as skipper or watch leader in at least 2 voyages, at least in 2 sea areas Certification required prior training: SRC and First Aid Certificate Minimum age required: 18 years old


Cancellation Policy

All bookings are taken upon confirmation after schedules and timings are verified with the client directly over phone. Booking & Cancellation Policy We understand that plans can change. Please review the following cancellation and rescheduling policy before confirming your booking: If You Cancel Your Booking 1. Prior to the Program Date: More than 1 month in advance: Full refund of deposit. Up to 2 weeks in advance: 50% refund of deposit. Less than 2 weeks before the scheduled date: Deposits are non-refundable. Up to 1 week in advance: Rescheduling is possible, but no refunds will be issued. 2. On the Day – If You Are Unwell or Unable to Participate: You may choose to: Receive a ₹500 refund per missed session, OR Reschedule within 1 month, by paying: 50% of the original program fee (for single-session programs), 50% of 1 day’s fee (for multi-day bookings). 3. If You Are Unable to Complete the Introductory or Pool-Based Section: After 30 minutes of dedicated effort, if you're unable to perform the required skills: You will be charged ₹1,500 for the orientation and pool portion only. If you choose to continue and still do not meet the requirements after another 30 minutes: You will be charged the full pool session rate of ₹3,950 + taxes. If We Cancel the Program 1. Due to Weather or Operational Issues: You may choose to: Reschedule at no additional cost Switch to an alternative activity, if available, with a discount (not applicable for courses) Receive a full refund for 1-day programs, or a refund equivalent to 1 day for multi-day bookings 2. If You Fail to Show Up or Are Unfit to Participate: Arrivals after the scheduled cutoff time (e.g., 7:00 AM), no-shows, or individuals deemed unfit (due to alcohol, hangover, or unsafe condition) will: Forfeit their deposit Be liable for any outstanding balance, as the slot was reserved and could not be reallocated This policy ensures fairness and smooth operations for all participants.
