PADI Open Water Diver Course

Course Overview

The Open Water Diver course is the world's most widely recognised scuba certification — your passport to diving anywhere on the planet. At PMT, we deliver this course in Pondicherry's inviting coastal waters, combining rigorous training with an enjoyable, professionally guided experience. Upon successful completion, you will hold an internationally recognised certification that qualifies you to dive independently with a buddy to depths of up to 18 metres at dive sites around the world.
 

What You Will Learn

• Dive theory: physics, physiology, equipment, and dive planning

• Confined-water skills: buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, and more

• Navigation, underwater communication, and emergency procedures

• Four open-water training dives in Pondicherry's coastal environment

Who This Course Is For

Open to anyone aged 10 and above (Junior Open Water Diver certification for ages 10–14). A basic ability to swim is required. No prior scuba experience is necessary, though completing a Discover Scuba Diving session beforehand is welcomed. A medical fitness declaration is required before the course begins.
 

Duration & Logistics

Typically completed over 3–4 days. Includes online or in-class theory modules, confined-water training sessions, and four open-water dives. Flexible scheduling is available for working professionals and visitors to Pondicherry.
